Alaves` leadership announced their new senior coach, Abelardo Fernandez. The Austrian specialist comes to Vittoria in an attempt to save the Basques from falling. The contract between the two parties is ongoing until the end of the season. The new mentor will be presented today in the late afternoon of Mendisorsa.
Abelardo made a name in Spain as a hearty defender with Sporting Gijon, Barcelona and Alaves. As a coach, he achieved his biggest success at the head of Sporting Gijon - the climbing of the Primera Liga.
